Established in 1856, Belmont Primary School offers an outstanding education to its children. We believe in a set of core values that shape the culture and philosophy of our school, underpinning all learning programs, school organisation and teaching practices.

In recent years we have grown considerably, and now have a school enrolment of 209 children. As well as catering for the children of our local area, we also have children attend our school from all over Geelong .

Through the provision of a diverse and interesting curriculum students are both challenged and motivated to view learning as a life long process of self improvement.  Our programs instill confidence, creativity, self discipline, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

At Belmont PS we offer a great deal more than just a basic education. Our students enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities including Debating, Tournament of Minds, Geelong College Challenge, Swimming, Gymnastics, Athletics, Marimba Band, Individual instrumental tuition, Music Festival, Life Education, Bike Ed, Reading Recovery, Preparation for Puberty, Buddies, Junior School Council, Perceptual Motor Program, Safety House, Student Leadership Programs, camps, excursions, visiting performers and a great deal more.

We also enjoy a close working relationship with our neighboring schools through our involvement in the Barwon-South Network of schools. This network includes seventeen primary schools, three secondary schools and two special schools. We believe that a school that is networked with other schools around it can achieve more than a school operating alone. In our local area, we have been very successful at strengthening the links between schools and working collaboratively together. As well as sharing curriculum initiatives and resources, we also employ a range of specially qualified staff to provide a range of services to our member schools.
